Founders
Dr. Earl Glenn and Carolyn Glenn were reared in segregated communities in the Jim Crow South where the equal and basic resources provided to the majority population were undersupplied or completely withheld from the minority population. This disparity created a spirit in the Glenns to provide targeted resources, programs, and opportunities proven to increase academic performance and foster children’s creative talents and abilities.
Earl Glenn, a retired dentist, has a deep-rooted educational philosophy anchored in the teachings, examples, and nurturing of a strong and loving family and a supportive and faithful community “village.” Carolyn Glenn is a newspaper publisher, and former high school teacher and administrator. Inspired to succeed by her visionary family, she models her work ethic after her grandfather’s example. He was a visionary farmer, builder, and businessman who used his resources to build and maintain a public school in his rural, segregated community void of educational services. The Glenns passionately believe that any child can succeed academically if given the support and the necessary resources for life-long impact. Together, the Glenns exemplify a servant leadership team working to effect transformational change for underserved people who need help, hope, and happiness.
