      Watford Hill Primary and Infant School (WHPIS)–Jamaica, WI

  The WHPIS chess team has held the esteemed status of Parish champions among all elementary and high schools since 2019.

  • A junior chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers was established in 2021 sparking science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) based programs.

 

  • Because Watford is a food-insecure community, STEM activities since 2022 focuses on food engineering to teach students and parents how to consistently grow and preserve food so that they can eat today and for a lifetime. A working garden and chicken coop have been constructed.

 

  • During ULC’s tenure, incredible accomplishments have been made. Most notable: National achievement test scores have increased from the 50th to the 80th percentileenrollment from 40 to 150 students, and parent programming that propelled the school to become the top Parent Involvement School in Jamaica in 2019.
